How do I log a chemical reading?

From the pool detail tap Add Chemical Reading and enter pH, free chlorine, total alkalinity and any other parameters. Missing parameters can be left blank; each record is stored with a timestamp.

Which parameters are tracked (pH, chlorine, alkalinity)?

By default: pH, free chlorine, total chlorine, total alkalinity, calcium hardness and cyanuric acid (stabilizer). You can add business-specific parameters from Settings > Chemical Configuration.

What are ideal ranges for pH and chlorine?

Classic swimming pools: pH 7.2-7.6, free chlorine 1-3 ppm, total alkalinity 80-120 ppm, calcium hardness 200-400 ppm. Spa/hot tub ranges are narrower; Clorly suggests targets automatically based on pool type.

How does the dosing recommendation engine work?

Using current reading, target range and pool volume, the app calculates the chemical quantity to add. Each recommendation comes with a unit (grams/litres) and product type (liquid chlorine, pH down, etc.). When you mark the dose as applied, automation starts tracking.

How does the AI dosing assistant choose chemicals?

Accepted Answer

The assistant combines pool volume, surface type, historical response to doses, and the current reading. Beyond standard formulas it learns per-pool, producing more accurate suggestions over time. The recommendation card also shows which inputs were used — fully transparent.

How do I customize chemical thresholds?

Adjust the low/high limit of each parameter under Settings > Chemical Configuration. Out-of-range readings automatically trigger alerts. Limits can be split per pool type (e.g. narrower pH range for spas).

When are chemical alerts raised?

Accepted Answer

As soon as a logged reading falls outside the configured thresholds. Critical deviations (e.g. free chlorine 0 ppm) send a push notification and land in the Alerts screen.

Can I see past readings as a chart?

Yes. The Charts tab on the pool detail renders trend graphs for the last 7/30/90 days. Threshold bands are drawn too — so you can quickly see when the pool drifted out of range.

Can I switch between ppm and mg/L?

Accepted Answer

Pick the default unit system (metric or imperial) under Settings > Regional. ppm and mg/L are practically equivalent; Clorly adjusts the display to your preference.

I logged a wrong reading — can I edit it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Click the Edit icon next to the reading in chemical history. Changes are kept with an audit trail — who edited and when is visible.

Can dosing be calculated without an internet connection?

Accepted Answer

Clorly is an online platform — all calculations and records require a connection. Keep mobile data or Wi-Fi on while on the field.

How do I configure chemical suppliers?

While adding products in Inventory you can enter supplier info. The dosing recommendation then auto-picks your preferred brand and concentration.
